Diversity and Inclusion
Marathon’s Diversity & Inclusion Council is accountable for the oversight and firmwide communication of the Firm’s diversity and inclusion objectives. It meets quarterly to discuss and review the Firm’s consistency in meeting its goals. The Council led by James Atwater and Nishi Kapoor is composed of diverse senior members of Marathon across business lines and responsibilities.
“It is imperative that everyone at Marathon has the ability to communicate their insights and ideas throughout the firm because it will lead to the most informed decisions. Our team must visualize and understand how their career can progress within the firm”
“Providing tools to assist each person to elevate themselves to the next level both professionally and personally, will help Marathon continue to move forward in the right direction, building a culture of inclusivity from within”
Marathon dedicates resources for its commitment to diversity and inclusion. We are engaged with a leading firm to bring valuable career development programs in-house for our Women’s Network. We partner with organizations to increase our recruiting and hiring pool of diverse candidates. In addition, Marathon has a mentorship program which aims to retain and promote professional development goals of our existing talent. Within the program, senior employees are matched with less experienced team members to further improve performance, build a stronger culture, and enhance retention. An Executive Committee member acts as mentor and is matched with a colleague who acts as the mentee; the mentor-mentee pair meets monthly to discuss mutually established development topics, goals and progress.
